Re: HELP with Call Logging and Email Recording!!

You're facing memory constraints in your device. Perform the following steps -

  1. Give a soft reset by removing the battery for 30sec.
  2. Check how much memory is free in your device to Options -> Status -> Free Memory. To view all the database size go to Option -> Status -> click Menu button then select Database Sizes
  3. Delete less frequently used application. To delete go to Options -> Advanced Options -> Applications -> highlight the application you want to delete -> click Menu and select Delete
  4. If you stored your picture in device memory them move them to your media card

Check the below Knowledge Bases -

Call and SMS logs disappear when BlackBerry smartphone is low on memory

Email messages are deleted from the BlackBerry device

Re: HELP with Call Logging and Email Recording!!

Thanks for your reply. I don't understand how this has all of a sudden started happening. I have not recently added any applications to my phone.....and it appears that I have a good amount of free memory (4779701 bytes)

If thats your Free Memory, you really do not have enough space then. A good number is 10000000+ bytes free...

Okay...I now have 10597653. I guess this is good?  I mean...thats 22% of my total memory as free memory! So...I guess, any applications I want to add, should be added on a media card?

Re: HELP with Call Logging and Email Recording!!

thats a great start adn yes, if possible, install the apps to your media card. You may also want to check as well if you have any pics and other media stored to your device instead of your memory card to help free up mroe memory. Like anything else in life, the more free space you have, the better off you are.

Re: HELP with Call Logging and Email Recording!!

I tried deleting some ring tones I don't use. I did it through the media application ( Roxio I think)....but it did not delete. Is there another way to do it?

For the memory card....i simply go buy a microSD card and put it in the back near the battery....right ??

Re: HELP with Call Logging and Email Recording!!

some items are not deletable from the device if it was already there, it may or may not let you delete the items. The only items you should be able to delete are items that you have placed on your device either thru sync'g or other means, ie MMS, etc.

Yes, you buy a memory card and place it in the back of the device.
