Some of our employees have been dialing 911 by accident via the 'Emergency Call' option that is available when you click the ball on your device when the Blackberry is locked. Some folks dialed 911 when holstering their BlackBerry, while others have experienced a problem where something presses up against the side of their leather holster and initiates an unintentional emergency call. I have checked the manuals for my own BlackBerry and see nothing that gives a description of how to disable the 'ability to call 911 when your phone is locked' feature. While I am fairly certain this is something that cannot be disabled, I promised my employer I would post something here for additional input.

Yikes! First -- you cannot disable the emergency calling feature...it is required by law. Here are a few KB's about it...perhaps something will be useful:
Perhaps someone with experience with your specific devices will have some better hints to prevent accidental emergency calls. Perhaps using the device lock password?
Good luck!

Further, if you are the original poster (OP) and your issue is solved, please remember to (on the post that is the solution) click the "Accept as Solution" button so that others can more easily find it. Cheers! Oh...and FWIW...I am not a RIM employee...and these forums are user-to-user...not user-to-RIM.

I played with an application from mobihand. The self-implemented lock worked great for me. If you use their lock, you won't have the emergency call headache (apparently they still provide emergency call interface, just in a better way).
