How do I stop the SPAM?

My company has migrated from Exchange to Google Mail.  I disabled the link between Exchange and my 8820, then installed Google's GMail app. Viola, my GMail is synced with my BB.  So I downloaded Google Sync to get my calendar to sync up, but now I'm getting 100's of emails from "Network".  I have found a few KB articles and tried those, but the instructions don't match my menu options.  How do I stop the madness?

Re: How do I stop the SPAM?

Try the Antair BlackBerry Spam Filter, available from http://www.antair.com or directly from your BlackBerry via www.antair.com/ota -- It works for both personal and corporate BlackBerry devices, and is client based, so it will work regardless of the e-mail technology that your company is using.

Re: How do I stop the SPAM?

Maybe I confused this question by asking how I stop the SAPM.  I could set a filter to prevent the emails from clogging my inbox.  What I really want is to find the settings to stop the emails.  I have found there are a number of articles on this issue, so I'm sure it has a resolution.

Re: How do I stop the SPAM?

Do you mean, how to stop receiving spam in your mail server?

Re: How do I stop the SPAM?

No, it's not really spam.  This is the email I get:

I have received <80 of these emails today and it's only 2:00.  I have seen a few KB articles that reference this message, but none have been helpful.

Re: How do I stop the SPAM?

Step 1

----------

Remove all of the Desktop service books from the BlackBerry smartphone.

1.      From the Home screen on the BlackBerry smartphone, click Options

2.      Click Advanced Options

3.      Click Service Book

4.      In the service book list, select the Desktop [CMIME] service book

5.      Display the menu and select Delete

6.      In the service book list, select the Desktop [CICAL] service book

7.      Display the menu and select Delete

Step # 2

----------

If installed desktop manager with integration option with 'Blackberry Enterprise Server or BlackBerry Desktop Redirector' then this could happen. If either the Email Settings or Redirector Settings icon is displayed, uninstall BlackBerry Desktop Manager or modify the configuration of the BlackBerry Desktop Manager to support the BlackBerry Internet Service.

In your PC Go to Control Panel -> Click Add/remove programs -> select Blackberry Desktop Manager -> click Change/Remove -> click modify -> then instead of selecting the checkbox for Enterprise Server/Redirector select the checkbox next to Blackberry Internet Service.

This should solve the problem.

Re: How do I stop the SPAM?

Yes, you need to uninstall the Desktop manager software and reinstal it using the BIS options (Blackberry Internet Service).

Once reinstalled, resync the Handset to the PC and the emails will stop.
