First time with the community...i have the 8703e just got a replacement for minor problems. Working great when i got it. Downloaded the new software from 4.2.2 to 4.5.0 and now cannot hear my GPS. Trouble shoot, technical support with sprint, nothing works. Can I uninstall the new 4.5.0 by to the 4.2.2?
HELP

Cannot hear your GPS? I assume you mean like for turn by turn directions?
Yes, you can downgrade the OS.
1. Delete the newer OS from your PC by going to Control Panel >Add/Remove Programs.
2. Then download and install the older version of the OS. BlackBerry Operating System Downloads
3. Install the older OS to the PC by running (double clicking) the file you downloaded.
4. Go to c:\program files\common files\research in motion\apploader and delete the file named "vendor.xml."
5. Plug in BB and double click on "Loader.exe." It's located in the same place as the above vendor.xml file.

Thanks so much. Do I uninstall the Desktop Manger 4.5 (new version) and install the old Desktop manager 4.2 version?

J Sanders,
I see the file vendor but not vendor.xml....mostly a lot of loader files

When u say "Delete the newer OS from my pc" what exactly is the "name" that I am looking for. I only see Blackberry Desktop Manger software. I purchased my phone through sprint online.

No, you don't need to do that. Doesn't matter if you do or don't.

Honestly, my best advice would be not to do the downgrade yourself. The directions given for this are quite simple, but something is being lost somehow, and I don't want your to brick your BlackBerry.
