I am a relatively new Blackberry user with an 8830. How can I eliminate some of the 60 - 70 junk emails I am receiving each day? I have my email going to both my 8830 and my desktop Outlook. Outlook is eliminating most if not all junk email, my 8830 is getting everything from every **bleep** on the planet and I don't know how to change this.

Need some help badly!

Hi and welcome to the forums,

There are no filters on the blackberry. There are filters you can put on in the BIS site from you carrier.

If you don't know your BIS website give me the carrier and I can send you the link,

My carrier is verizon, and I would appreciate any further help you can send my way. I am using my website pop3 account for email and I don't believe I have created a BIS email account. Will the filter you're speaking of work for receiving email sent through that pop3 account?

I have downloaded the BIS user guide.pdf and am beginning to wade through it. One thing for sure, no one is ever going to accuse the Blackberry folks of being user friendly. I ordered the 8830 over the internet and had to set it up myself, so all my problems are most likely self-inflicted.

I appreciate your taking the time to help.

Hi,

Let me know if you need a full set of user guides and operating manuals

In the bottom of the post is the link to Versions BIS site accessed by PC,

Your can have up to ten email accounts on your device, POP3 is the easiest

to setup.

I have also left a link with instructions for setting up the BIS account.

And another for setting up spam filters.

I couldn't help noticing the "user friendly" remark. If you have tried to do this on your own, How would

BlackBerry have been user friendly or unfriendly?

This is a user to user site, I have a 8330 and I hang around here WAY too much.
