LED indicator function

Is the red LED indicator only work under certain incoming messages or calls? Sometimes it goes red and other times it stays  green.

Re: LED indicator function

In BlackBerry device there are 4 types LED (light) indecator. LED stands for Light Emitting Diode. The LED indicator blinks in different colours to deliver different notifications to the BlackBerry user.

Blinking RED

The LED indicator blinks red whenever you have incoming/waiting communication messages on your phone - new email, new call/missed call, new BlackBerry Messenger message, new SMS, etc.

Blinking GREEN
Coverage Indicator light. This lets you know you are connected to a network.
If you wish to turn off the Blinking Green light Go to Options > Screen/Keyboard and turn LED Coverage Indicator to Off.

Blinking BLUE

Lets you know your phone is connected to a Bluetooth device, such as a Bluetooth headset.

Blinking YELLOW

Plug it in! A blinking yellow light means it is time to charge your BlackBerry as you are running low on battery power.

Re: LED indicator function

Yes. That is the way it is described. However, on occasion,(50% of the time) the LED on my 8830 stays green even when I have a missed call, SMS or E-mail. There is not apparent consistency to this. My previous 8830 did the same. All the options are set to LED notification

Re: LED indicator function

The RED flash will notify on Missed calls, SMS, MMS, Reminders etc.............. but stay RED only for 15mins...... post that it will turn back to green...

There is no way to change that setting (as its default) to my knowledge....
