Re: MicroSDHC

If I use an BlackBerry Device OS from a different vendor, I also assume I should also delete the "vendor.xml" from my Blackberry Desktop Manager software before hooking up my 8830?

Answer: No.You have to install BB Device OS only for your BB 8830. Do not try to install Device OS for another model.

Answer:Follow the steps:

  1. Install Device OS package on your desktop computer.
  2. Go to c:\program files\common files\research in motion\apploader and delete the file named "vendor.xml."
  3. Plug in BB via USB-cable and double click on "Loader.exe." It's located in the same place as the above vendor.xml file.

Loaded 4.5.0.127

Everything went smooth.  Things look a lot better.

Now to go and get an 8GB MicroSDHC card......or maybe even a 16GB.

Thanks for all help.

Re: MicroSDHC

Hi -

I just bought a microSD card for my 8830. When I installed it in the phone, I got a messgae that the card could not be read because it had not been formatted. But when I check it on my computer, the Properties box said that the card was formatted with the FAT32 system. What's wrong?

Thanks.
