The following notices periodically show up on my handheld and PC, sometimes 5 or 6 at once. Does this mean there's a problem somewhere that I should correct? And can I delete them?

Reason : You have installed Desktop Manager using the 'Desktop Redirector option.
Step 1: If you're not using Redirector, you should uninstall Desktop Manager and then reinstall it using the BlackBerry Internet Service option.
Step 2: On your device, go to: Options > Advanced > Service Book, and delete all service books for [Desktop]

Does this process apply even though I'm not on an exchange?

Yes, it does. You could have also installed Desktop Manager with the BES options.

I made the changes, but this seems to have created another problem. Now, if I attempt to open or delete an appointment on my calendar, I am blocked. A messge appears: Appointment deleted externally. Changes will be lost and the viewer closed.
Any way to correct this?
