Is the password option grayed out / locked?
If so, you will have to remove the policy the company placed on the phone.
remove IT policy - Method 4
but see if you can disable the password first!

gotcha! There should be a check box that says enable. can you uncheck it?

Just a thought, but do you have the device encrypted? If so, you will have to check and see if it is Password encrypted or just device key encrypted or both... If it is "both" or "password", you need to change it to "device key" before you can remove the need for a password.
