I have a BB 8100 (not pearl). Trough my desktop manager I did the software upgrade by directly of blackberry site. I download succsesfully the version 4.5.
The device with the new software was feedom to use any SIM provider. In this way I installed a Movistar SIM, and the problem that I found is that I cannot make outgoing and incoming phone call and any SMS message. But YES I can browse by the blackberry explorer.
The device can read the SIM of Movistar, and moreover, I installed a SIM of Personal (another provider) and it show the same problem.
My question is what kind of parameters it´s necesary to change. Or what it cuold be the solutions
Thank´s a lot
Horacio

The 8100 is the "Pearl".

I bought the BB 8100 two years ago. At the options - about it say Blackberry 8100 (EDGE) V4.5.0.124 (plattform 2.7.0.92)
Yes may be that the 8100 also it´s name Pearl.
Can you help me with the problem description ?

First off, I would suggest you get SIM swap from your provider, if this one is not working.

I confirm that the SIM is working fully OK because I have it under use into the other BB 8800. The 8100 read the SIM ok. Moreover, from the 8100 it´s posible to browse without any problem.
The main problem is that it´s not possible to make outogoing and incoming phone call and SMS

Regardless that it works in another device or that the browsing works, that is whay I have found will solve the voice calling issue in other situations.
