RIM and Adobe announcement

Hello designers and developers!

RIM and Adobe recently announced an expanded alliance that will enable content designers and application developers to use Adobe Creative Suite content development and authoring tools to easily deliver rich content and application experiences for BlackBerry smartphones.

Check out the blog post and demo vidoes that preview two workflows we plan on enabling.

We'd love to hear your thoughts about the news and these demos.

Regards,

Hossam

Re: RIM and Adobe announcement

I'm glad to see RIM moving in this direction.  I would also like to see a commitment to the JavaFX platform.  I think many Java developers including myself prefer an all Java solution.  JavaFX has tools to export vectors and images from Adobe Illustrator and Adobe Photoshop.  Sun has showed glimpses of GUI designers similar to Flash Studio and Flex Builder. There are many UI components in FX 1.2 and 1.3.  If JavaFX is mostly a new syntax for Java 2D that compiles to regular Java bytecode, I wonder if it will work on BlackBerry without needing special changes from RIM.
