OpenGL ES support was officially announced at the BlackBerry Developer Conference today (yay).
But it is still missing support for the toolbar. The reason I mentioned OpenGL is that it is unofficially in the JDE Beta 4 (now officially in Beta 5). There is also unofficially a toolbar class that seems to produce the same toolbar used on the native applications. So now that I gave more information than needed, do you think that a toolbar API will be announced?
Second, another missing UI element is the banner. I have seen some apps produce their own or attempt to copy the real one but they never are perfect (especially if you have a app with custom notification icons). There is no unofficial API for this but does anyone think it will be supported, or better, announced? I have not had a chance to play with the new Beta 5 JDE so I have not tried anything with it.
