Welcome to the new Product Management board!

This board will serve as a forum for you to tell us what you like and dislike about the BlackBerry application platform. We'll also be using this forum to foster discussion around feature requests.

This is your chance to provide feedback to key stakeholders at RIM that can influence the overall direction of the platform,

I look forward to hearing from you.

Re: Welcome to the new Product Management board!

Hossam - my company, imeem, recently launched a very successful application on Android.  We're hoping to replicate that success on the BlackBerry.  How can we streamline this process and get in touch?  We want imeem for BlackBerry to really rock.

We found having a single point of contact with Google/OHA helped us quickly get our application into the Android Market.  I'm hoping that imeem and RIM can simililarly develop a close working relationship.  Our site has about 25 million unique users engaged in music listening, music discovery and social networking.  Our mobile service currently delivers DMCA-compliant 'radio stations' and will make the BlackBerry a truly strong entertainment device to compete with the iPhone, G1 and other advanced devices.  (Plus we're all on BB's here at imeem and want to make this app sing!)

Hello Jeff,

Welcome to BlackBerry development.  Have you checked out our Alliance program? It is set up to provide you the support you need when developing and commercializing your application.

Re: Welcome to the new Product Management board!

Hello - Please make an application that allows a laptop or desktop user to use their Blackberry Storm as a mouse. If the Storm has bluetooth or wireless, it should be able to connect to a computer, and you already have a touchscreen. This will enable business users to not have to break out a separate mouse when travelling. Please feel free to send me a free storm in response to this suggestion that will make blackberry look like it cares more about business travellers then Apple

Re: Welcome to the new Product Management board!

Hello Product Management Board,

Thank you for being here.

I am wondering when the BlackBerry Platform

will move onto Java 5 or 6. Do you have plans

to bring Java FX to the platform?

I am working with Bluetooth and I find it very

annoying to run and test on the device because

the Platform reboots on installation of applications

that make use of Bluetooth. It breaks the train

of thoughts of developers to wait 3-5 mintues

for the reboot to complete.

Is there a way to totally disable SureType?

It is completely stupid or that it's too smart for me.

I don't want it to give me all the permuations it thinks

I might be typing--I just want to type a button once for 'e',

type it within a time threshold again for 'r'.

Would you provide a sample for Bluetooth OBEX pull?
