Testing and Deployment

I just repackaged an Android app for the Playbook, but the app's audio (it plays a few short .wav files) doesn't seem to be working in the simulator.  In fact, I haven't heard any audio at all from the simulator, and when I try to navigate to flash or HTML5 videos in the browser to attempt to test its sound, the browser crashes.  Any ideas for how I might be able to verify whether my app's sound is working?

Sorry to hear that you're having problems with the simulator.  Could you check the following for me?  

- Confirm the version of VMWare and Simulator that you're running.

- Ensure that the sound card, under Virtual Machine Settings, has "Connected" checked and that the connection is set to the proper sound card, i.e. your headphone or speakers? 

- Ensure that the system and a application volumes are not muted and are high enough so you can hear it?
