Details

There are a number of BlackBerry smartphone models available in the market today. It is important to understand the corresponding BlackBerry® Device Software versions available for each model because the BlackBerry Device Software version defines the software features and Java application programming interfaces (APIs) that are available to third-party applications.

The following table shows recent models of the BlackBerry smartphone and the corresponding version of BlackBerry Device Software for each model when it was launched. The table also shows the version(s) of BlackBerry Device Software that the initial version of the BlackBerry Device Software can be upgraded to.
