Blackberry Simulator - Receiving Text Messages from Windows Application

All,

 

Can the Blackberry simulator receive email and text messages sent from a Windows application?

NOTE: Currenlty the windows app send texts via SMTP to <phonenumber>@vtext.com and works for 'real' devices.

 

If so, can the simulator launch a web browser(within the simluator)  from a link sent via email and/or text message?

Yes it can.  You can send SMS messages between 2 simulators or from an application connected to the simulator.  Refer to the smsdemo application for an example of this (it's made up of a BlackBerry client and Java computer side application).  The smsdemo is included with the BlackBerry Java SDK and BlackBerry JDE.
