Brand new PlayBook not working, straight out of the box

Here's what I did:

New device, took it out of the box, turned it on, entered all of the info it asked for. It told me that it needed to download updates. Began to download updates, stopped downloading in the middle and restarted. It did this a bunch of times, sometimes stopping in the middle of download and sometimes after the download during installation. I couldn't skip this step to be able to actually use the device.

 

I was in touch with tech support, and they told me to do a clean install using the Blackberry Desktop Software, which I did 3 times over the phone with them, and many times afterwards. After the clean restart, it seemed to be trying to download a different update, but either way the result was the same - it stopped and restart in the middle, sometimes during download and sometimes during install.

 

Again to be clear. I haven't actually "used" the device, meaning it hasn't even got passed the initial registration and downloads, and until that's down the device can't actually be used.

 

What to do?

I'm located in Israel, and I don't see any number for service here, what do you recommend?

it was through a program for developers who submit apps to the new RIM market place for the PlayBook, once the app was accepted, they mailed it to me here in Israel
