Connection Failed when trying to upload executable to playbook

[ Edited ]

Hi All.

I don't know what I'm doing wrong here.

I've imported the Falling Blocks sample project into Momentics (2.1.0 on XP SP3) and uploaded a debug token.

Auto discovery found the Playbook (OS 2.1.0.1088) connected via USB.

Under project Explorer, I have "169.254.0.1 (not connected)"  and "FallingBlocksMakefile"

If I right click 169.254.0.1 and choose "BlackBerry Tools" -> "Connect", I get a message box that says

Connection Failed: Connection Refused: connect

Reason

Connection Failed: Connection Refused: connect

I can ping 169.254.0.1 from the dos prompt.

I'm a bit stuck - can anyone point me in the right direction please.

Thanks,

Gary.

Re: Connection Failed when trying to upload executable to playbook

ZoneAlarm !  Bah !

I can get a connection when I turn ZoneAlarm off.  The sample apps transfer and run :-)

Can anyone point me towards what to set inside ZoneAlarm so I don't have to turn it off completely ?

Thanks for reading.

Gary.

Re: Connection Failed when trying to upload executable to playbook

Most firewalls have a way to ALLOW all traffic, in and out, to a certain IP.  See if you cannot set that ip address to be free.

If it helped you, click like. :smileyhappy:

Re: Connection Failed when trying to upload executable to playbook

Good thinking, it looks like ZoneAlarms allows a range of IP addresses to put into a "trusted" zone.  I'll give it a try next time I'm looking at the sample code.
