Not sure if this is posted elsewhere, but RIM are aware of the problems and are working on a solution.
This was confirmed during this afternoons Cascades web cast where RIM staff answered questions on the topic.

This roughly mirrors what @xsacha did, though all on one machine. Had the same issue, uninstalled DM and "downgraded" to the identically versioned DM from beta zone. Ran DM again and it immediately showed there was an update available. (Many others who have tried the same and numerous variations have not had similar luck, however.)

Don't know why this time I went back to the version in beta zone and it found the uodate.

Is the update from Beta Zone the same as the update from Official DM release today?

I tried the BZ version and it hasn't made any difference to my device.

Have you tried a different computer with the bz version
