Re: Do not wipe Dev Alpha Update 10.0.9 Bundle 44

footose's method worked. Be sure to hold down the power button for 10+ seconds while the desktop software is checking for an update.

Yes that'll get the device recognized but then follow the instructions I gave.  It worked first time.

It shouldn't take that long. I watched mine stuck at 25% for two hours before I disconnected. That said you proceed at your own risk.

Re: Do not wipe Dev Alpha Update 10.0.9 Bundle 44

I unplugged mine thinking it would end up bricked. I was lucky in that it booted back up into 10.0.6. Based on my experience I would say:

Unplug it.

Make sure all desktop manager and device manager software is not running, reboot the desktop.

Re-run the msi file to clean up and reset the installer.

Make sure you have lots of room on your C: drive. I had 8GB free and it wasn't enough, 14GB was (for me)

I also removed the password from the device. This isn't necessary but saves having to type it in

Once the Dev Alpha is back up and running connect it and run the bat file

Having done all this the update finished in under an hour.

Unplugging it might brick it, but I havn't seen any better advice at this point, and there does seem to be a way to get it back.

Re: Do not wipe Dev Alpha Update 10.0.9 Bundle 44

Even i also unplugged it. Now it is not wnt to the previous bundle. It is only showing the splash screen for infinite loop. May be i have to uninstall every thing and reboot the system and start from the begining. But only one thing i want to confirm: is WipeReload.bat file need to be run??

Hope tomorrow it will work for me.

Thanks.

You may need to use footose's method to get it back. Good luck.

Re: Do not wipe Dev Alpha Update 10.0.9 Bundle 44

Okay

Install apploader msi

Then

1. Open wipereload.bat

2. Keep your mouse on the okay button.

3. Connect the dev alpha to the pc

4. Hold Power Button till you hear a usb connect sound (10 secs Power button hold)

*****During the fourth step start clicking the ok button as the device gets detected just for second and vashies so if you press okay at the time it gets detected it performs the os reload and solves all problems.

P.S :Your password should be more than 8 characters or else there is a bug which dosent allow you to get past the password screen so do a security wipe if possible before performing the above steps.
