Error: Authentication failed. There have been 1 of 5 failed attempts

[ Edited ]

Hi; I hope this is the right venue for this question.  I find I'm unable to install an app for testing.

I generated a debug token:

blackberry-debugtokenrequest -cskpass xxx -keystore author.p12 -storepass xxx -deviceId 0x5011D52B debugtoken.bar

and installed it:

 blackberry-deploy -installDebugToken debugtoken.bar -device 169.254.0.1 -password xxx

but was unable to upload my app:

 blackberry-deploy -installApp 169.254.0.1 FlightDeck.bar

Error: Authentication failed. There have been 2 of 5 failed attempts

What do I do now?  More importantly, how can I diagnose this without having to run to the forums for help?

ETA: this is an Android app that was converted to a .bar file with apk2bar and then signed with my signing key.

Re: Error: Authentication failed. There have been 1 of 5 failed attempts

Answering my own question, there are two steps I missed:

When running apk2bar, you need to add "-d <debugtoken.bar>" to the command line.

When running blackberry-deploy, you need to add "-password ####" to the command line.

I can now install apps, but nothing happens when I try to run them.

Update: I did a secure wipe and reinstall and the problem went away.
