Error when uploading debug token to BB10 device

Hi,

I'm currently trying to upload a debug token to a BB10 beta device, but whenever I try, I get the following error:

[Fatal Error] :1:1: Premature end of file.
Error: Authentication failed due to system error

I tried doing it via both the command line and the IDE, but I get the same error both ways.

I'm currently using the NDK 10.0.9.1673, but my device says OS Version 10.0.8.111. Would that be a problem? There are no software updates available when I check on the device.

Any suggestions?

Thanks,

Mark

Do you have the Blackberry Desktop Software Installed? If not install it first: http://na.blackberry.com/eng/services/desktop/

I think it's because of drivers issues

You have a very, very old OS version on there that doesn't support OTA updates.  Download the latest autoloader file and install it.

Re: Error when uploading debug token to BB10 device

I tried to update via the autoloader, but I get this message in the command prompt window: "Error: This file does not match this device!"

I suspect the device I received may have an OS version that is incompatible with the autoloader. Are there any other ways to update the device?

Thanks

Where did you get the device from?

Re: Error when uploading debug token to BB10 device

I'm having the same problem with an evaluation unit Z10 we have been sent to test some BB10 code.

How can I update the firmware on the phone? I didn't want to risk the Dev Alpha update in case it was wrong for this device.

Re: Error when uploading debug token to BB10 device

The premature end of file error is usually caused by using an outdated SDK.  Upgrade to the latest and try to deploy again.

Re: Error when uploading debug token to BB10 device

I just checked and updated my SDKs, both Dev Alpha (now at 10.0.10.263) and Native (now at 10.0.9.2372).

I can create a debug token but when I try to install it I get:-

[Fatal Error] :1:1: Premature end of file.
Error: Authentication failed due to system error

One "odd" thing is that the Settings/About/OS shows

    "OS: Blackberry Playbook OS"

    "OS Version: 10.0.8.111"

    "Build ID: 282978"

These seems quite old (compared to the other Dev Alpha device I have here). Is this a standard Dev Alpha device I can update in the same way as the other?

Re: Error when uploading debug token to BB10 device

It's hard to tell without seeing it, but that looks like an older OS release.  Try using the autoloader to update that device.

Re: Error when uploading debug token to BB10 device

Just tried it. The auto loader doesn't work on this phone (it did on the Dev Alpha device I have here).

It says:-

"Error: Failed to load images."

"Error: This file does not match this device!"

On the device itself the Settings/About/General say:-

"Model: Anonymous"

"Model Number: STL100-3"

Is there a different autoloader I need for this?
