Install applications on the BlackBerry Simulator

by BlackBerry Development Advisor on ‎02-17-2010 01:35 PM (4,581 Views)

Summary

This article applies to the following:

  • BlackBerry® Java Development Environment (JDE)
  • BlackBerry Simulator
  • BlackBerry wireless devices based on Java™

Procedure

To install an application on the BlackBerry Simulator, you must opy all the COD files for the application into the program directory. The application becomes available when the BlackBerry Simulator is restarted.

When an application is built within the BlackBerry JDE, it is automatically copied to the BlackBerry Simulator that is included.

An application can also be downloaded wirelessly to the BlackBerry Simulator. To do so, upload the JAD file and required COD files to a web server. Then, use the BlackBerry Browser on the BlackBerry device to access the JAD file.

Files must be placed in the root directory of the BlackBerry Simulator and not in any of the subdirectories; these directories are reserved for BlackBerry applications.
