PlayBook simulator unable to access /dev/nvram (2)

When launching the PlayBook simulator in VMWare (I have windows vista home premium) I get the following:

QNX v1.2b Boot Loader: vmware.ifs

Unable to access /dev/hd0

Unable to access /dev/nvram (2)

open(/dev/nvram) failed: No such file or directory

Mount: Can't mount /base (type qnx6)

Mount: possible reason: Invalid argument

sh: /base/scripts/startup.sh: No such file or directory

No files have been quarantined, nor does restart/reinstall fix the issue. If you have seen this before, please help!

Re: PlayBook simulator unable to access /dev/nvram (2)

Which version of the simulator are you running?  Does the simulator end up stop at "Loading Screen"?  Also, what version of VMWare are you running.

Thanks,

Daryl

Re: PlayBook simulator unable to access /dev/nvram (2)

I have the same problem.  The simulator stops at "sh: /base/scripts/startup.sh: No such file or directory".

I am using:

VMware-player-4.0.2-591240.exe

BlackBerryPlayBookSimulator-Installer-2.0.0-7109-Win-201201041944.exe

Note:  First time I booted I didn't have this problem and I didn't change any settings.  I tried closing and reopening vmware.

Re: PlayBook simulator unable to access /dev/nvram (2)

To all,

I did resolve this issue by downloading a prior version of VMware Player. However, my simulator still does not respond when I try to do deploy my application for testing. It gives me the "Target refused" IP address connection error. I receive a series of "request timed out" when I try to ping the simulator as well, so I think it's an IP address issue but the suggested solutions have not worked for me. Any thoughts there?
