Playbook 10 simulator opens but nothing but a black screen

On 64-bit Linux, I installed the simulator. The VM opens, but then nothing but a black screen. Any ideas?!

Your video card and/or video drivers likely don't support Open GL 2.0. Choose option 2 on startup to enable software rendering.

Thanks for your reply. If I try "2" or actually any other number, it basically freezes on the same startup black screen and never loads
