The invalid pin is a known issue and being looked into.

 Tips
 

  1. Restart your BlackBerry Playbook
  2. Reregister at the above url
  3. Press the software update button again
  4. Should work for you now.

I entered my PIN again and it started right up.  A friend did too.  List must have been messed up.

 

Try that.

I don't think it matters where you register from. Try using a web browser.
