Hi all,
Many people are unable to upgrade their Dev Alpha from the original 10.0.4 OS to the new 10.0.9 OS, with the current "Program has Ended" error. Tried Registry settings, and uninstalling - NOTHING WORKS!
Help?

I feel your pain man! I have spent about 9 hours trying to update my 10.0.4 Bundle 188 device
i.e.
after running
AppLoaderWebSL_7.1.0.34.
connecting dev alpha and executing
WipeReload.bat.
_always_ get the message
"there was an error updating your software"
"there is no update available"
some stuff I have tried;
I have uninstalled and reinstalled BB desktop software about 20 times now (always downloading the latest desktop software which seems to be 7.1.0.32 bundle 33 (file Desktop Software v7.1.0 B33 (Multilanguage))
I have tried on 6 different windows machines in my dev lab (4 win7boxes and 2 XP boxes)
Followed every detail of
https://developer.blackberry.com/blackberry10deval
and its doppleganger
https://developer.blackberry.com/devzone/blackberr
to the _TEE_
never have the registry keys they mention to delete so that is not an option.
occasionally I get the device to boot up into the "“Thank you for participating! The BlackBerry 10 Dev Alpha device program has ended. For details on what to do next, please visit blah"
message
very very very frustrating

One solution we found is:
1) connect the device
2) run the update until you see the “connecting to bootrom” message
3) holding the top button and the volume + keys for 30 seconds - even when the screen turns off, hold it for 30 secs
This forces a hard reset of the OS and can get a device 'unstuck' in its upgrade flow.

Looks like something changed. I've been trying to update 10.0.6-386 since last friday with the same "No update found" mentioned a million times in this forum. I just tried the same old thing(WipeReload.bat) again now and it's working... slowly downloading module 1 or 2.
As far as I know I didn't do anything different, except maybe run wipereload when my dev alpha was asleep, so my guess is someone fixed something server side... sadly, we'll probably never know.
Hope it's working for others.

Are you using the BB desktop software to look for updates for the device? I mean after removing it and re-installing the software do you try update the phone through the BB desktop software?

It worked for me too today, hurray
. Although not at the first attempt. When I plugged by Dev Aplha I got the "no update found" message. Then I launched BlackBerry desktop Software and I left it for a minute or two and suddenly I saw that BB Desktop Software has found an update... I tried the update via Desktp Software but it downloaded 54 modules and then I told me that the update has been applied - but it wasn't. And the WipeReload.bat still wasn't working.
1. What I did eventually was restart the Dev Alpha,
2. conneced to PC,
3. started Deskto Software,
4. kept launching the update menu until it finally found the update,
5. Canceled the update in Deskto Software
6. Started WipeReload.bat
It worked and my Dev Alpha is finally new and shiny. I don't know whether it had anything to do with the procedure I did or was it just a coincidence, but mayby it will help anyone who still has a problem with the update.

For those still having issues, we have posted an autoloader.exe file that should be able to upgrade the BlackBerry Dev Alpha to 10.0.9 from any previous version, regardless of the current state of the OS.
You can download it from this page (813 MB), near the bottom: https://developer.blackberry.com/blackberry10deval
