Requesting a device for testing?

Has anyone successfully requested RIM to send devices to companies who are looking to provide support for BB in their mobile apps and sites? I am currently looking to aquire devices for a new responsive design mobile site and was wondering if this is possible.

Re: Requesting a device for testing?

Last month, RIM did give new alpha BB10 device to developers present at the BlackBerryJam in Orlando.

Otherwise, it is rare. I'd suggest if you have a product to sell, you should buy your own testing devices.

@J Sanders and OP ... though that is not the full story.  If you join the BlackBerry Alliance Program it is common practice to request and receive loan devices to test with, subject to availibility.  Indeed depending on the level you join the BlackBerry Alliance Program at, you may/will receive, on loan, early release models of new devices to prepare your apps in preparation for the eventual release of the device.

Re: Requesting a device for testing?

I have a feeling that user isn't a part of the Alliance program.

Good info though!
