Simulator not detected by Eclipse on Mac OS X

[ Edited ]

Hi !

I want to test my application on Q10 on so have tried the simulator 10.1.

I have installed it in VMWare Fusion 5 for Mac OSX. It is running fine. The network of the VM is set up as bridge. The simulator window shows me an IP address : 192.168.1.44. Anyway, Eclipse still doesn't want to detect my simulator. When using the Blackberry Deployment Setup Wizard, at "Device Setup" step, it fails at being auto-discovered. So I check Simulator and enter the ip address but have no idea of the password to enter ("devuser" not working).

I have tried with Alpha B and Alpha C Simulator and the results are the same. Any idea ?

Please note I can successfully ping the simulator from the computer and access Internet from the Simulator

I am running Mac OSX 10.8.3. Thanks

Re: Simulator not detected by Eclipse on Mac OS X

Well, it doesn't even detect an alpha device (works great on my Linux box).

When I try to backup my signing keys, it tells me "Unable to locate barsigner.csk". Can this be related ? It seems the whole setup is wrong.

Solved.

Make sure you are using Apple JRE and not openJDK.
