Simulator problem, simulator does'nt start

My simulator does not start, duno why.

Im runing it on vmware palyer 5.0.2 on ubuntu 12.10

Did you choose option 1 or 2 on startup?  If 1 (default if you don't choose) it'll default to OpenGl 2.0 rendering.  But if your video card and/or video driver doesn't support that, you won't see anything beyond the screen in your screenshot.

 

Try choosing 2 for software rendering.

It works for me.

Here are a few information:

Kubuntu 12.10

VMware® Player 5.0.2 build-1031769

$ lspci -nnk | grep -i VGA -A2

Check if you have direct rendering enabled:

$ glxinfo | grep rendering
direct rendering: Yes
