Unable to install .bar in simulator from an url

Hi ,

I developed an application in BB10 and generated the .bar file and signed the same .

I deployed the application to my server but when I download the application it is not installing in Simulator instead it goes to the downloads folder . When I try to open the file I am getting the message "Unable to open the file".

Could you please help me on this.

Thanks in advance.

Shameer.

Re: Unable to install .bar in simulator from an url

It's not possible to install this way, you can either use the BlackBerry World App store or sideload using an app such as DDPB.

I would take a look at using BES as well.

Also could you please let me know how to install the .bar file directly while downloading without any side loader like how the blackberry app world do.

Thanks,

Re: Unable to install .bar in simulator from an url

There is no way to install a bar file directly, it can only be done through BBW or by sideloading.

Perhaps if you explain your reason behind wanting to do this, someone may be able to offer some other advice.

@adsdev It's bad forum etiquette to duplicate an answer already given and your suggestion of updating the simulator will make no difference to the OP's problem.
