Unable to open .csi files

by Retired ‎02-17-2010 11:35 AM - edited ‎02-17-2010 04:49 PM (2,608 Views)

This article applies to the following:

  • BlackBerry® Java® Development Environment (JDE)
  • BlackBerry JDE signature key registration

When trying to open a .csi file, Microsoft® Windows® does not recognize the file type and cannot automatically open the file; instead, an Open with dialog box prompts you to Choose the program you want to use to open this file.

Cause 1

The BlackBerry JDE or the BlackBerry JDE Component Package has not been installed correctly.

Re-install the BlackBerry JDE or the JDE Component Package on the computer.

Cause 2

The incorrect versions of the Java Development Kit (JDK™) and Java Runtime Environment (JRE™) have been installed on the computer.

Verify the installed versions of the JDK and JRE are compatible with the BlackBerry JDE version. For information, see this article.

If the above resolutions do not resolve the issue, open the .csi files from a command line. For instructions, see this article.
