When creating a Debug Token from Flash Builder, the process fails with exception "Unable to parse issue date from debug token"

by Retired on ‎05-16-2011 05:06 PM - edited on ‎06-03-2011 03:33 PM by Retired (1,927 Views)

Summary

This article applies to the following:

  • Adobe® Flash Builder® 4.x
  • BlackBerry® Tablet SDK for Adobe® AIR® v1.0.1

Problem

When trying to create a Debug token from within Flash Builder, it fails and an alert dialog appears with the message:

"Unable to parse issue date from debug token"

Cause

The tool that creates and verifies the debug token currently uses a locale-specific check to verify the date of the token. If the computer being used is currently set to use a locale other than English (United States) then the date format may differ from the expected format and cause the above error to be shown, failing the debug token creation process.

Workaround

Change the computer locale to English (United States) or create and deploy the debug token from the command-line.

Resolution

This has been resolved the BlackBerry Tablet OS SDK for Adobe Air version 1.0.2 when using Adobe Flash Builder version 4.5 and higher.
