Re: 8300 drop down select disply issue

Alright, that got my 8300 emulator back up and running!  I'll make sure my logging is enabled for http and try to capture the html that's giving me problems in the 8300 on drop downs.

Re: 8300 drop down select disply issue

We're experiencing a similar problem with dropdowns over HTTPS. The info is displayed as one list item horizontally.  We have a public version of a site and an internal version that are similar other than that the internal one is over HTTPS.  The problem does not occur with the site available to the public.  I have a Verizon Blackberry Curve 3330 and am unable to duplicate the problem on either site.  The user who is having problems has a T-Mobile Blackberry Curve 3320.  This is the only issue like this we've come across so far.  The site has been live for about nine months.

I would appreciate hearing from anyone who might have experienced similar problems and any solutions you've come up with.

When I said 3320 and 3330 I meant 8320 and 8330.

Re: 8300 drop down select disply issue

You nailed, our app works fine over http, but the selects are broken over https.

Re: 8300 drop down select disply issue

Below is one of the pages giving us problems captured over http(which is rendering the selects fine) however when this page is rendered over an https connection the select is broken as described earlier in this thread.   The two selects are highlighted in red.

Re: 8300 drop down select disply issue

It looks like you're using .NET.  Are you also using the mobile framework for the site?  We're using .NET 2.0 with the mobile framework.  I'm going to set up a test page in ColdFusion and see if that works for the person having issues. Unfortunately, I don't have access to a phone that's having problems to test with.  Also, I know that the code that .NET genereates doesn't include closing option tags, which is non-standard. I wonder if that might be part of the problem in certain circumstances.

Re: 8300 drop down select disply issue

Yep, its a asp .net 3.5 application running as a asp .net 2.0 IIS/web application employing only mobile adaptive rendering controls.

Re: 8300 drop down select disply issue

Are you able to reproduce this with a static HTML page?  If so, can you provide a URL?  Or does this only occur from an ASP .NET page?

Re: 8300 drop down select disply issue

Same thing happens with a static html page.  Draws the select fine over http, but over https it is broken.  Here's the html document I'm loading.

<html> <head/> <body> <select name="fundsTransferAccount2DropDownControl$accountSelectionList">

<option value="0">0000000000

<option value="1" selected>000000000

<option value="2">0000000000 <option value="3">000000000 <option value="4">000000000 <option value="5">000000000 </select> </body> </html>

Re: 8300 drop down select disply issue

Thanks for the sample, I was able to see the same behaviour.  The problem is being caused by not closing the option tags with </option>.  Adding that fixes the problem with the page.

I have also verified that the page works as is in BlackBerry handheld software version 4.3.0 and higher.
