Re: 8320 Simulator running 4.2.2.161 won't connect to MDS simulator 4.1.4

OMG, i can't thank you enough!

The issue was my java path and JAVA_HOME path's were pointing to a non-existant version of java.

Working like a champ now!

Thanks,

Re: 8320 Simulator running 4.2.2.161 won't connect to MDS simulator 4.1.4

I have what looks like a similar issue.  I can start the MDS simulator.  I know it is running, because I can connect to it from IE7 using http://localhost:8080 and I get a status page that updates the time every time I refresh.

However, when I run the device simulator and try to use the browser, I get 'Unable to connect to the selected Mobile Data Service' regardless of what address I enter.  The response is instanteous, like it didn't even try.

There is no firewall running.  I've also tried switching off anti-virus to no avail.

Is it possible it could be a Java setup issue, e.g. JAVA_HOME or suchlike? What does the browser do if there is a Java issue?

I'm running the 8310 simulator version 4.5.0 (though the Help-About menu reports BlackBerry Smartphone Simulator 2.9.0.61).  The MDS simulator is 4.1.4.

Many thanks.
