The JavaScript is inside the .bar file and is running on the packaged content page. I just tried adding <rim:smileytongue:ermit>read_device_identifying_information</rim:smileytongue:ermit>, which isn't in the API documentation, but that didn't help.

The permit setion is located in the "Configuration Document Settings" in the API reference.

 

I'll try it out on my machine..

Ah, that looks like a bug in the documentation browser. The permission section is hidden with "display: none" when you set the filter to "BlackBerry Playbook" instead of "Show All APIs".

Yup... I believe I fell into the same issue that you have fallen into... UNCLEAR DOCUMENTATION  :smileyhappy:

 

You need to nest your <rim: permit> elements inside a <rim: permissions> root element.  Once you do this everything works wonderfully.
