Soz - you need the AlphaDev to know what I'm on about
Perhaps I'm being stupid here...
I tried out the Camera on my AlphaDev @ BBJam London - cam went flash and a piccie was taken
I can find no way to get the image back
One of my fellow developers did the same and also found that although it appears to have taken the piccie it went to the bit-bucket in the sky
I've examined the device's memory and I cant find any image anywhere

You're not alone. Got the same.
it doesn't allow you to view pictures. I think the device OS has been locked down so much that you can only test your own apps and use the browser but nothing else.
I've got a whole bunch of other problems with it on top of that. :-(

Same here, I want to develop apps that intergrate with other apps/services on the phone but as its locked down so much I don't know where to start!
What other problems are you having?

The best bug so far was getting it working
We had terrible WiFi in London
My friend Luis Sale (RIM) showed us a trick to bypass setup - I was with someone who works for the Ambassador of Poland for the UK - I kid you not...
I'm not gonna tell about the trick but it adequately shows why these things are a bit flaky ATM
Battery life really sucks
Hey, it's a DevAlpha. I expect some issues
In case you don't know all us DevAlphas get to swap this thing for a special limited edition BB10 - only us lot get this not for public release device
Apparently six weeks after we attend our events we get a callback event to show how we're getting on - I found this out on the way to the Tube with the RIM crowd in London
The timing is bad for me as we're having a devcamp that week so I'm trying to get the London one moved a few days so I can bring 3 apps we have in the pipeline along (one of my co-developers is likely to pitch one of them in Berlin - vote for Florian Erlemann if you go!) <g>

I've wrote a liite tutorial on how to install other apps onto your AlphDev device:

Cool - where's the like button ?
I'll definitely give this a go

Are the images not in the /camera folder?
Right now the OS image installed on the BlackBerry Dev Alpha devices does not have an photo album. Until that changes, a fun exercise that developesr might be interested in is to create your own?

@astanley: You are really right. I'm trying all the (new) APIs to get something working and get more familiar with the device. So an app to read the shared folder and a picture/video/audio presenter shouldn't be a big problem with the help of the forum ;-)
