Web and WebWorks Development

Hi.

As explained here on BB OS devices there is an API to access the Maps Service. Is something like that planned or already available for in BB10 WebWorks (SDK)? If not (yet), where is the right place on the github repos or the jira dashboard issue tracker to add a future request for it?

Is there even going to be a BlackBerry Maps on BB10? So far the PlayBook has used Bing Maps, and not BlackBerry Maps.

I got lost within the BB developer site and it seems there are no planned activities on this topic..

There will be BB Maps in BB10 that will be using TomTom data. Not certain who is developing it, but it is not the company that developed BB Maps for current devices. BB Maps, like any app on BB10, will have an interface to it using the invocation framework. It will allow you to open or embed the app and provided services like lat/lon pins, basic KML, address lookup, 2pt navigation and alike. The schema for this and all BB core apps have yet to be published. As far as we can tell, it will probably be a JSON interface to the invocation framework.

So you can probably stub something out at this time, so it will be faster to tweak once the schema has been published.

Sounds very interesting. Hope to see something soon to add such feature to an app I want to publish until BB10 release date!
