BB10 - Downloading and Installing Bar Files

Hello all. Is there anyway to allow bar files to be downloaded and installed easily for users who are not tech-savvy ?

Because this app is catered specifically for our client so,  the app would not be uploaded to BB World as the app will be distributed to their staff via download link from their servers.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Using the Chrome browser extension is pretty foolproof, I think.

Have you tried it?

Re: BB10 - Downloading and Installing Bar Files

Are you referring toBB10 / PlayBook App Manager? I haven't try it out yet but I have research on how to use the extension.

It's easy at least for developers but end users might find it a bit complicated as they need to turn on Development mode, check for IP etc. Our existing users are used to downloading it straight from the browser, and they might ask why the new app need so many steps to install it.

Thanks for the suggestion. Couldn't wait to try it out myself. :smileyhappy:

The DDPB app installer is one way, I think you will find the Chrome browser extension even easier.

Re: BB10 - Downloading and Installing Bar Files

I also find the Chrome Extension to be the best way to send demo .bar files to clients.
