BlackBerry Visual Studio plugin does not allow me to create an MDS runtime application with JavaScript and click and drag functionality

I have installed the BlackBerry plugin for Visual Studio and according to tutorials like these:

http://blog.amitdhiman.com/2009/07/installing-blackberry-plug-in-for-visual-studio-2005-2008/

http://blog.amitdhiman.com/2009/07/developing-hello-world-application-in-blackberry/

http://supportforums.blackberry.com/t5/Web-Development/How-to-Use-the-BlackBerry-WebWorks-Plug-in-fo...

I''m supposed to have a project template for a creating an MDS Application, but the only temmplate I have is WebWorks Application. When I create such a project I don't presented with a desgner where I can drag and drop controls and set event handlers etc.

Anyone have any ideas what the problem is? Am I missing an installer?

Re: BlackBerry Visual Studio plugin does not allow me to create an MDS runtime application with JavaScript and click and drag functionality

Hi,

MDS Runtime wasend-of-lifed early last year and is no longer supported.  The first version of the BlackBerry Plug-in for Visual Studio (v1.0) was designed to build MDS runtime applications.  However it has since been updated (currently v2.5.1) to produce BlackBerry applications using the WebWorks SDK.

The BlackBerry WebWorks Plug-in for Visual Studio does not have its own drag & drop UI controls, however you can certainly use Visual Studio's HTML tools.

Sincerely,
Adam
