Build Success but Invalid binary file error during App submission

[ Edited ]

I have developed an app for the playbook format and I was successfully able to build it in ripple emulator. But no .COD or .BAR files have been created. When I went on to upload it to the App Store I got the following error. Please Help.

  • Invalid binary file (about.html5765968710937268059.html)

If you didn't get a .bar or .cod file then Ripple was not fulling building your app. What values did you set in the Ripple Build screen?

I am getting the same error when uploading the .zip file created by Ripple on Package and Sign option. I also get a bar created outside of the zip. Has anybody got lucky yet uploading the HTML5 apps? I am still struggling on this. Is there anything I am missing?

thanks

Sunil

Re: Build Success but Invalid binary file error during App submission

You need to submit the .bar file, not the zip. The Zip is just your raw application files and the packager uses it to creat the bar file, which is the actual compiled application. Submit the .bar file in the /device directory to App World. The one in the /simulator directory can be run on the simulator to test.

Thanks Tim.
Just to let the further readers of this blog know, the .bar file in the /device directory is the one that is to be submitted for approval and not the one in /simulator.

Re: Build Success but Invalid binary file error during App submission

In the section where you upload the file bundle it doesn't list BB10 Z10 device and doesn't accept the .bar file , please advise.

Re: Build Success but Invalid binary file error during App submission

Ignore the file bundle upload and look further down the page. There will be a link to upload a single bar.
