CSS, XHTML - General Formatting Issues on Pearl 8100 series

For some reason I am having a difficult time getting a fairly simple page to show up correctly on the Pear 8100 series.  It works and displays fine on other versions of the Blackberry.  It seems like the BB is not applying the stylesheet correctly.

I am using both the actual BB and the BB simulator to test.

Thanks for any help you can provide!

Is your simple page up somewhere we can see? It will be easier for us to help if we're not expected to be psychic.

I am not familiar with the following HTML element :

< meta name="viewport" content="width=device-width; initial-scale=1.0; maximum-scale=1.0;" / >

can you explain what it is supposed to do ?

You can read about the viewport tag here:

Can you elaborate on what you mean by not displaying correctly?  What are you seeing and what are you expecting?  Please provide some screen shots if possible.  What BlackBerry handheld software version are you testing on?  You can find this under Options, About on the BlackBerry Smartphone.
