Can a Blackberry SQLite database be opened from a connected PC?

I've created a sample database using the Webworks API, and run on a Bold 9780.  When I connect the phone to via USB I can see the database (I assume) here:

G:\BlackBerry\system\appdata\rim\webstorage\testapp\database\databases.db

Tried opening it using SQLite Browser (http://sqlitebrowser.sourceforge.net/) and also from a VB.NET app running on the PC - but it says it isn't a valid database.

It this the wrong file? Or is the RIM version of SQLite not compatible with everyone else's?

I might be wrong but I think it's encrypted so you can't access it outside of webworks.

Re: Can a Blackberry SQLite database be opened from a connected PC?

Thanks.  You're probably right - can anyone from RIM confirm this?

We're trying to develop an app that needs a PC to be able to access data logged on a Blackberry.  The text file i/o in webworks is too buggy to use - in our tests, if you have an app that runs for a long time and does several thousand text file saves, it ends up hogging tens of Mb of memory and ultimately crashing the phone (this is the subject of another post).

So we thought - hey, let's use a SQLite database instead.  Sounds like that won't work either.

SQLite databases are encrypted by default.
