As the title states, is there any way to simulate os5 using webworks and ripple? Currently, under the '"information" setting in ripple, the OS showing is 6.0 and it seems to be unchangeable.

If the aforementioned is not possible.....can someone please aware me of how I can simulate my webworks app in an OS5 environment?

So i downloaded the BlackBerry 9700 Simulator running OS5. I am assuming this is the way to go. Is it possible to run webWorks apps on this simulator?

Also, I bumped into something called "gears" which allows for backwards compatibility with OS5. Is this necessary for me to include?

Can someone please point me to the right direction? Thanks in advance!

So as far as I know, based on the research I did, there is no way to simulate OS5 in Ripple.

The workaround is to install the Webworks SDK and use that to package your application. Here is a good tutorial:
