Web and WebWorks Development

My computer is Windows 7 (64bit). I tried to use Ripple Emulator for smartphone development.

I installed Ripple Emulator on C:\Program Files\Research In Motion\Ripple 0.9.0.16

and BlackBerry WebWorks SDK on C:\Program Files (x86)\Research In Motion\BlackBerry WebWorks SDK 2.3.1.5

These are the default locations the installation program provided.

When I double click on the icon both in folder and in start menu, the program does not even show up, the Ripple Emulator does not start. I have even restarted my computer but nothing is running.

Hi there,

If you are running the latest version of Ripple (which you should), you don't need to click any icons. Ripple is a Chrome extensions, so it works within the browser.

Just navigate to your app (you need a webserver for this), and then click the Ripple button to activate it.

I understand that the Ripple emulator is available as a Google  Chrome extension for use with applications created using the BlackBerry 10 WebWorks SDK, and is also available as a standalone tool for applications creating using the BlackBerry WebWorks SDK.

I am having problem on Ripple Emulator instead of Ripple Emulator Extension.

Any idea?

Ripple has been discontinued as a standalone product, if you download the latest version (which you should) it's only a chrome extension.

Not sure if this is same problem, but deleting the c:\users\<user>\appdata\roaming\Research In Motion\ directory after uninstalling ripple, then reinstalling fixed all issues with ripple for me. Hope this helps.

Yeah,
Use Ripple Beta Extenction 0.9.8 Google Chrome Extenction.
Hope this will solve your Problem.

This worked for me:

Find the C:\Program Files\.....\Ripple0.9.5.0\services\bin    directory.

Click on ripple-services .bat file.

You might get an unblock port request.... hit ok..

Try http://localhost:9910/....yourFolder....
