Re: Forcing landscape mode with WebWorks

[ Edited ]

Thanks again, Tim!

For future reference, how would one best go about discovering such functionality? I browsed the release notes and ran a search for "orientation" in the development guide last night, neither of which turned up anything at all.

EDIT: Upon further analysis, it seems the development guide's search function is broken entirely. I just ran a search for "playbook", and it *still* turned up zero results.

Re: Forcing landscape mode with WebWorks

"rim:smileysurprised:rientation" doesn't appear to work on smartphones, is that true?  Is there a workaround for locking orientation on smartphones, or just on the tablet?

Second post of the below thread will show you a Smartphone work around

http://supportforums.blackberry.com/t5/Web-and-WebWorks-Development/Tips-Quirks-and-Solutions/td-p/4...

The same support as in the Tablet OS is expected to be in the Smartphone SDK as part of our Foxtrot release

Tim,

That works great, thanks.  I didn't find that in my searches earlier.

Re: Forcing landscape mode with WebWorks

<!-- The rim:smileysurprised:rientation element specifies the orientation for screens in BlackBerry WebWorks application. -->
<rim:smileysurprised:rientation mode="landscape" />

Adding orientation to config.xml its working fine in my tablet device......
