HTML 5 Webworks Notifications

I was wondering how or rather if it would be possible to show a notification icon on the homescreen of the blackberry given that you are working in HTML 5. I know this can be done in the java environment but I'm not sure for HTML 5. If anyone has any information on whether this can be achieved any information would be useful. Thanks in advance.

Re: HTML 5 Webworks Notifications

Indeed. You can use the community-sourced API: https://github.com/blackberry/WebWorks-Community-APIs/tree/master/Smartphone/notification for full custom notifications and the native showBannerIndicator to show a little icon with a number in the ribbon : https://bdsc.webapps.blackberry.com/html5/apis/blackberry.app.html#.showBannerIndicator

To make that clickable in the message list, use the community-sourced API: https://github.com/blackberry/WebWorks-Community-APIs/tree/master/Smartphone/MessageList

Any idea if there's support for PlayBook?

Re: HTML 5 Webworks Notifications

setHomeScreenIcon() and showBannerIndicator() are not available on the Playbook.
