HTTP PUT and DELETE support in Widget

Hi,

I am writing a Widget which sends Ajax requests to access a REST API. Sending requests using HTTP methods GET and POST are working fine. But when I try to send an Ajax request using method PUT or DELETE, traces show they are instead being sent as GET!?

Seems to be a limitation in the Widget SDK, to only allow GET and POST methods. But I haven't found any documentation on such limitations.

I also tried to use the HttpRequest object in google.gears instead, but the same problem here. When running my javascript code in the BlackBerry Browser, I can successfully send PUT/DELETE requests.

Any ideas, workarounds?

Thanks,

/olle

Re: HTTP PUT and DELETE support in Widget

Have you found this to be a limitation in the BlackBerry Browser as well, or just inside of a widget?

Thanks

Re: HTTP PUT and DELETE support in Widget

This is a problem only in the Widget environment, PUT and DELETE works as expected in the BlackBerry browser.

Re: HTTP PUT and DELETE support in Widget

I also have this issue. Tested on OS5 and it fails to use the PUT verb, tested on OS6 and it works correctly. :smileysad:
