How do I manage the DOM processes to avoid the 0.5 sec delay?

[ Edited ]

Hello, I'm new to developing mobile app, so first, I installed all the jdk, sdk and ripple emulator. Then I tried running the Sample App - Payment on the ripple emulator. It works fine on the emulator, no delay but when I tried to run it on my Blackberry device, it starts to have delays. Changing from each directories with delays of around 0.5 sec to 1 sec. I tried googling for the solution, but I don't understand how to implement it. Can anyone teach me?

Thanks

Re: How do I manage the DOM processes to avoid the 0.5 sec delay?

Hey Terril,

This five half a second delay is a known bug in the JQuery mobile library. Anytime you use the framework be it on the BlackBerry devices or even onilne, you will exprerience this delay. If you google around, you'll find that the reason for this delay has something to do with JQuery Mobile waiting for the double click. A proposed solution was a CSS hack but it sometimes takes away from some other things like special effects here and there.

The best thing to do is avoid using JQM and try to implement an app using BBUI.js -- this was created by one of BlackBerry's own and works really well under all devices:

https://github.com/blackberry/bbUI.js

Here is a google search that can probably shed some light on the probelm you were having with the delay:

https://www.google.com/search?q=jquery+mobile+click+delay&oq=jquery+mobile+click+delay&aqs=chrome.0....

Hope that helps -- good luck!
