Incoming caller number

 Hi,

During an incoming call, I want to trigger an event in my application which will extract incoming phone number and use it to show details of the caller.

Is there a way I can achieve it? If there is please point me to sample code.

Thanks and regards,

Pooran

Re: Incoming caller number

I am in discussion with BB as to my answer to the Q

The issue I have is that it could be easily abused - as such I decided not to allow this facility

Yep - an API is easy to write

I am, however, worried about potential abuse

One of my BB friends makes the obvious observation that your use of such a tech may be legit

I could easily write this but it comes down to polling as events (we are missing the latter)

Re: Incoming caller number

I totally understand the potential abuse of this feature if available publicly. I am willing to sign legal binding documents if it needs to be.

Re: Incoming caller number

I would be willing to write this when TWindsor releases my budget

I am rather worried about the potential abuse so licensing would be a requirement of me releasing code that does what you want (not for money)

This code - you must undertand is dangerous

I've researched this issue

At present webplatform don't deliver events to extensions (this is on the fix list)

Should you provide satisfactory documentation to my friends @ BB I'll put you on the list

Re: Incoming caller number

Yes but its slow progress

I've checked and this will be allowed but requires some work by BB before it can be implemented

They know what needs to be done and the importance of the bits we need to do what you want

This issue is affecting many extension projects so we just have to be patient

Sorry I can't bear better news
